- Nabil Bentaleb frustrated by new contract delay as Arsenal, Juventus and PSG keep close eye on Tottenham Hotspur midfielder This sounds like a Sterling situation. For all of Levy's penny pinching, he's been relatively quick with improved contracts for younger players like Rose (who signed an extension last year) and Mason and Kane (who signed within a month of contract negotiations - and they entered into renegotiations around the same time as Bentaleb, but he's still resisting). The lad is on £8k a week, and got offered £25- 30k p/w like Mason and Kane did. Mason and Kane signed their contracts, within six weeks of renegotiations, but Bentalib wants parity with Lloris and Eriksen. Word has it that Bentaleb's agent is muttering words like buy out clauses and incentives. The agent and player openly talking to the press with take away quotes isn't a good sign (it's not only in DM, you get me), considering that other players have signed without a blip. Oh well. You really can't wreck a club's wage structure for a 20 year old, no matter how good he's been. Or else you end up like Leeds or QPR
- Tottenham Hotspur must keep Manchester United transfer target Hugo Lloris at White Hart Lane, insists Jan Vertonghen I get Lloris wanting to go to Champions League (as a French captain, I guess it looks bad for him to be in the Europa while the rest of his colleagues are in CL teams) but to a fellow PL side? Levy would try to flog him abroad first
